The University of Texas School of Law has maintained a proud tradition of educational excellence ever since the University’s founding in 1883.
LAITS Technology Integration worked closely with the School of Law to assess the audiovisual needs of faculty and students alike. Creating a system that allowed everyone to be seen and heard throughout the classroom presented unique challenges to the LAITS design team. Working in an ever-changing environment created obstacles for the LAITS integration team. And in rooms replete with new custom millwork and furniture, maintaining discretion became integral to the project’s success.

- Twelve 4K dual-lens PTZ cameras with AI capability, for confidential video conferencing and recording
- Twelve 4K HDR TV displays with screen sharing connectivity, able to display the speaker, regardless of the speaker’s position in the room
- Eight quiet 108” HD, Direct View LED video walls with 1.25 pixel pitch and 600 nits of brightness
- Wireless handheld and lavalier microphones to accommodate professors and guest speakers
- Distributed speaker systems and audio infrastructure programmed to provide uniform audio levels for everyone in attendance
- 275 tabletop mics to ensure every student is heard
- 10.1” touchscreen controls with intuitive user interfaces, and dual high-definition monitors built into custom lecterns
Challenge
Amid an ongoing floor-up renovation, design and deploy four fully functional classrooms, replacing all existing audiovisual equipment with new systems designed to encourage and enhance full-class participation.
Solution
Planned and installed unique, state-of-the-art systems complete with push-button tabletop mics for students, a control center for speakers, as well as multiple displays and PTZ cameras programmed to facilitate and record active, large-group discussions.
